HAPPY New Year!
That time of year has come again, where we
all decide on our New Year resolutions.
Today we start with a clean, fresh slate.
If you are healthy, if you eat sensibly, if
you exercise, if you are mentally and physically fit, you are well placed to
enjoy the next 365 days of the year. My ultimate goal and challenge for
this year is to forgive and let go. By doing this one door closes and another
opens. Below, are ten of my resolutions (almost mantras) to be followed
for a happy new year.
1.) All the art of living lies in a fine
mingling of letting go and holding on. Havelock
Ellis
2.) Continue my travel
adventures,
exploring a new country.
3.) Cut down my computer use and be in the
fresh air, connect with nature.
4.) Exercise
at least 4 times
a week.
5.) Find a passion, learn something new in my spare time.
6.) I want a more balanced
lifestyle.
7.) Spend more time with family
and friends.
8.) Look after YOU by putting you first.
9.) Drink lots of water.
10.) Get to bed a little earlier.
“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of
the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.”
“It is better to conquer yourself than to win
a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not
by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.”
“It is better to travel well than to arrive.”
“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it
without.”
“The only real failure in life is not to be
true to the best one knows.”
“The way is not in the sky. The way is in the
heart.”
“There is nothing more dreadful than the
habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates
friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and
hurts; it is a sword that kills.”
“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a
single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness
never decreases by being shared.”
“We are what we think. All that we are arises
with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.”
“What we think, we become.“
